Position Overview

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Heating Bay Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will support our new heating bay department in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our new heating facility. This role requires excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work well under pressure.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Respond to internal requests to heating of tank containers.
• Ensuring safe connection and disconnection of tank containers requiring heat.
• Following product specific heating as per heating instruction from our Operations department.
• Communicate with both Commercial and Operations teams to update on progress of heating in real time.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Monitor and track product temperature via dip and gauge readings.
• Prepare and process heating logs and certificates.
• Support the operations team in planning and executing schedules.
• Liaise with the Customer Service Team to handle inquiries and provide timely updates on shipment status.
• Assist in resolving operational issues and discrepancies.
• Provide out of ours cover as required on a rotating basis along with other team members.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

 

Core Skills

 

• Previous experience in heating bay operations within the transport sector.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• NVQ Diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields are a plus.
• Knowledge of logistics software and systems is an advantage.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
