The most recent system is known as ISO 9001:2015 and was updated in 2015. The ISO is made up of a majority of member countries and to be updated and released they had to agree for it to become an international recognised standard meaning it is accepted by the majority of countries worldwide.

Above stated that ISO 9001:2015 is an international recognised standard and provides and helps maintain a quality management system. It’s aimed to be used specifically by any organisation or company no matter the size or complexity because it is a recognised standard it’s regularly used so company’s can create a system to improve customers experiences and satisfaction and it’s required and certified through many suppliers.

Many companies use ISO 9001:2015 to create their own quality standards. This includes AS9100 for the aerospace industry, ISO 13485 for the medical devices industry, and IATF 16949 for the automotive industry. A survey of ISO 9001 certification at the end of 2017 shows that. Although the world has been in one of the biggest recessions over the past few years many companies have still implemented ISO 9001.

What Is The Purpose Of ISO 9001?

You may be wondering what the purpose of ISO 9001 is and what it’s all about The International Organisation for Standardisation (referred to as ISO, as this is the Greek word for “the same'') basically it’s an organisation that helps to build and create standards around the world and creates requirements and guidelines for organisations so they can strive and perform in a more sustainable manner.

The ISO develops, publishes and maintains more than 22,450 throughout technical communities all over the world. Looking deeper these standards provide the information needed to design and build products, perform certain and relevant testing and create management systems. Is ISO 9001 a legal requirement?

ISO is not a legal requirement but it is in fact a certified requirement for many customer and company contracts as well as many other standards for implementing quality management systems.
